I thought they're just being reported as inexperienced cannon fodder who will defect at the slightest possible chance?

Bondar also confirmed that the North Koreans possess an extremely high level of mastery of small arms, successfully shooting down “a surprising number” of Ukrainian drones.

“They demonstrate psychological resilience. Imagine, one runs and attracts attention and the other from an ambush shoots down a drone with aimed fire,” Bondar said, claiming that underestimation of the enemy will always lead to a defeat.

“As one commander said, compared to the soldiers of the DPRK, Wagner mercenaries circa 2022 are just children. And I believe him,” Bondar said.

Holy shit i can't believe they are still pushing the muh north koreans meme.

There is literally absolutely ZERO EVIDENCE that there's even a single North Korean soldier in Ukraine or fighting against Ukraine.

Zelensky has killed 10000 NKs this week, on top of the 25000 Ruzzians this week

Not a picosecond

Russian soldiers have posted videos of them chilling with N koreans while drones are flying about outside.

We should stop interfering with Slav - on slav slaughter house wars, and mind out own business.
Honestly, I could care less if Russia annexed the whole Ukrainian country or fired an Oreshnik ICBM missile with 80KT payload on the Dnipro

No, I didn't expect any large-scale defections when credible reports started to arrive, ascertaining that a N. Korean participation in the war had really started. They are like the Japs of the World War II era on steroids: raised in a spirit of ultranationalism and total obedience. Also, their families are essentially held as hostages.

These guys would rather die than surrender.

As to skills, they had to be retrained by the Russians before being sent to combat, as the landscape is too different.

Highly motivated, yes. As for skilled, I doubt it.

depends on the unit I imagine
