original Oblivion really didn't age well, even in early 2010s it felt like shit already.
The funny thing is almost nothing has changed with the remakes gameplay. It's basically the same jank game but with pretty graphics.

In middle school I was disliked for sperging out about Max Payne and Half Life in the year 2019.
I played oblivion didn't spend much time on it but I gave it a try about a year ago, My normie friend recently was talking about the remaster and how excited he is for it because his uncle talked about it (he played twenty years ago). I explained to him how these remasters are mostly just a safe least resistance way for these companies to bring in revenue and that it doesn't excite me nearly as much as a new ip or installment, I would be skeptical of anything they put out after 76 and Starfield. Replies with basically saying I'm overly negative and don't know what I'm talking about, I then ask him how long ago did you play Oblivion? "I've never played it" So you've never played the game and couldn't be bothered to play it up until now and will only consider dropping shekels because it's getting a remaster.

Yes, graphics in oblivion are actually (albeit subtly) stylized instead of going for a basic "high fidelity" look like in the remake.
