Something I’ve noticed recently is that these people can’t EVER be earnest about anything. Any topic, any art form, anything. They’re all apathetic tailspinners, everything is a fucking joke, sincerity is something they laugh at. I guess I can understand why this is, given that here in America, you’re literally taught in school that everyone around you is a competitor of some sort. Why describe the beauty of Wagner’s Rienzi in a TikTok video’s comment section when you’re surrounded by enemies who will mock you for liking the work of a heckin mean antisemite o algo?

Everything is a game since they're no longer in touch with base reality. You know we've really reached the penultimate stition of hyperrealism when no one even takes honor seriously anymore.

I think it is post-modernism thing where irony is everything.
No one can be overly enthusiastic or too earnest about beliefs. Irony and cynism are a way to avoid having to face the harsh realities of the world.
People would rather laugh at the weak than actually engage with societal problems seriously.

If you act non-chalant you can appear cool or independent. Everyone is too afraid of appearing cringe or clingy these days.
I think we are seeing a mass brainwashing of society where everyone is becoming the same generic normie npc character.
I think the internet is a factor as well.

Sincerity is dead. No one wants to be passionate about anything, especially men because it's considered beta or autistic, and it's all because all women want the same type of guy.

Truth nuke
Sincerity is autistic trait

Normies are just phonies putting on an act. They will attack you if you are real.
