That cost resources , about $50,000 per year for each criminal to be locked up in the states , not counting the cost of court and trial .

Death penalty like china using a few bullets in the head free up more taxpayers money for their respective benefits.

The problem is there are tons of paperwork, procedures and steps. The execution itself is pretty much a ceremony. I don't know why we give such pieces of shit this much respect when they've shown no respect to the people they've killed

I think being caged for a decade or so with nothing to do but wonder when you'll get the date with the needle to die in some tile-floor golgotha walled off from anyone who might love you would be very unpleasant. There's a reason these guys try a million appeals.

Being in prison is bad, but at least as a prisoner I could read books, learn stuff, maintain relationships. I think if I were a death row guy everything would be poisoned by thoughts like "why study this topic? I'll be killed in a few years anyway", knowing that no friendship you make or internal life you develop can go anywhere. even thinking about it gives me a sense of dread.

"It's actually better in a humanistic/lenient perspective and lock someone up for life with no hope than outright killing him!" - Normies just don't want to get their hands dirty and that's why they are in favour of life in prison. They keep the practical advantage of killing without the emotional disadvantage of actually doing something morally ambigious. They just leave that to biological processes like aging or when they are sadistic they want that other inmates that are in no position to judge someone do it for them.
