And even that's a stretch because no one gives a fuck about us either way. A family friend died last week who was always present at my mum's for years, it was like losing a step father in a weird way.

All of a sudden people have been sending their condolences on facebook but these people didn't give a fuck when he was alive anyway. Now all of a sudden 'oh I'm sorry, he was a lovely guy'. No one gave a fuck when he was alive, he was an alcoholic but had a good heart.

Its just strange how it takes death for people to suddenly acknowledge your existence. Most of our lives no one cares about. After the funeral, your yesterday's chip paper. Fuckin strange world we live in .

Exactly, its all just to appear virtuous, to tick a box that they've expressed condolences. When the truth is, they didn't give a fuck about this guy and it'll be the same for us. He was a pillar of the community as everyone knew him in the community including his local pub. There'll be a lot of people at his funeral. he had a good heart.

Yet no one gave a fuck about him for all that time he was alive, not even his own family. His son and daughter abandoned him for most of his life. His family never saw him. He was actually closer to me and my mum because he was always present there. He was pissed out of his head most days, literally had a bottle of rum for breakfast every day. Guy was in his late 60s, he didn't give a fuck about his health, smoked like a chimney, drank like a sailor, didn't eat fruit or veg and was overweight. This is probably what led to his lung cancer which eventually spread to the brain, well the smoke at least but everything else are contributing factors.
