Every enemy is on steroids and read your inputs. The first lace boss fight is faster than the hollow knight (final boss) of the first game....
Also no god colosseum, so i'm waiting for that patiently
i'm way more extreme. i genuinely do not see the point in playing this over old metroid games. i don't like the art style or characters, and i don't find any of the mechanics to be that amazing. you could already heal by attacking enemies since the very beginning of metroid. i accept there is way more effort put into the boss fights, but overall it's just not that different or interesting to me.
Yeah it's too underwhelming for 8 years of development. I'm personally not a big fan of metroidvanias but the first hollow knight was serviceable, and the colosseum of gods dlc was pretty good so i was a bit excited to play silksong.
At least i learned to temper my expectations on videogame releases
right now it really seems like every single bigger game that comes out gets this false hype cycle so it's impossible to tell what is going on ahead of trying it yourself.

The triple A industry is manipulating gaymers with "indie" titles that get literal government funding to back them up (dustborn, don't stop girlypop and clair obscur got government backing to be developped). Nowadays , I just emulate old ps2 games or play ones with zero playerbases or play roguelikes

Man, I dunno IGN.
Another L for IGN. This review was weird. Extremely nitpicky. It seems like Zach just didn't really vibe with the core concept from the beginning, why review it?
All other coverage I've seen, youtubers, reviews - are all excellent.
There really is some cool games coming lately, man. It's been really interesting... A lot of just kind of "gamer" games. I don't know how to describe it. Like not critic games per se. This game, Pragmata, Crimson Dessert, RE Requiem. They kinda remind me of the glory days of the Xbox 360 era or so. Like, cool weird ideas. Gameplay first.
I think this is why these games have really been resonating with players, but not critics as much, in some instances. I just feel like IGN represents more and more, not really a "gamer" view. Every other thing I've read, youtuber I've watched, has loved it.
