It works but it's more of a preventative medication, you have to start it early because once DHT has wrecked your hair follicles, there's no bringing them back. There's no evidence of it causing cancer but dutasteride does nuke your PSA levels, therefore, when testing for prostate cancer, the test wouldn't pick up on elevated PSA levels that indicate prostate cancer. Easy solution is to just tell your doctor that you're on dutasteride.
