If you react to any situation/happening in your life, whether good or bad, you will be going to get punished sooner or later by universe.

React = Acting without calculation
Respond = Acting with calculation.

It applies to everything in life.

You get angry = You will get punished by the society, even if you are morally correct in it.
You eat junk foods/ Jerk off /be lazy = You eventually ruin yourself.
