Yah... me neither. Hell, the year that prom was available for me, the rules were (by the school) the girls asked the guys out... well... how many guys you think actually were invited to prom? Mostly none and that included my ass.

Not so much now, my old friend was really into it and dragged me into his group eventually to go to a convention, where I met and danced with and slept with in the same bed (but not sexually) my first online-turned-real relationship crush. I liked the toonami/adult swim mainstream lineup but i didnt get too far into the fandom. Gurren Lagann was pretty much the end of anime for me because that was peak and it wouldn't be getting better than that, and I dont even know if that holds up as i saw it when i was younger. My friends went to the conventions to geek out over the shows and I went for the adventure and it kinda felt like how i'd imagine vegas would, but with costumes. Most sorta-obscure anime I watched recently during covid that was pretty good was Saiki K.

I've noticed a TON of normies like anime these days, its no longer a taboo weird thing to get bullied for as it was in my day, people fell into during covid, chad can throw the football and then geek out about overlord or demon slayer, tyrone can openly worship goku carrying his merchandise while talking about his bitches and drug/thug life, even hot girls watch and talk about it now in real life, but I havent watched those ones.
