Need help with a banned XBOX Series X

So, the situation is this. I once bpught a hardeare banned XBOX Series X, specifically for offline play.

I knew that it was / is hardware banned and did my research before buying it.

I made a mistake though, thinking that even without a profile saved on the console I could play offline and save my progress.

Unfortunately that is not the case.

There is a way to at ieeast play games offline without being connected to XBL. Just set the console to home console or something and set it to offline.

Still, I can't save my progress offline.

Now that I think about it, even if I manage to do that, some disc based games don't even have the full game on disc and a download is required regardless.

Maybe I will just resell it as banned and get myself some games for my xbox one instead.

I just wantes to play offline anyway. Hell, even on my own, unbanned consoles I never played online.

I use them the oldschool ways, to play offline and on split screen with friends.

Well, when I still had friends.

So, why buy it for full price if I only want to play offline anyway?
That was my reason.
Now I realize though that at least xbox console cannot be used completely offline.

I know from the PS4 that you don't even have to set it up online at all, to be able to play right away.

You can immediately instal games offline and save your progress locally.

As for the PS5 though, it is the same shit now as xbox, from what I know so far.

Yeah, I'd understand if they'd just ban the console from online play, but it is banned from XBL entirely and since I can't even log into my account because of this, I cannot set it as my homeconsole anyway, which is why in theory I would be able to save progress locally but since I can't connect to my account / sign in, I can't do that, so I can't save my progress.

That is why I am rooting for GOG. There I can at least download and own all of my games.

Then I would abandon steam and consoles forever.

No, you can do nothing with it. Microsoft consoles can not be jailbroken like Sony consoles can. I have had an Xbox Series X and could not even play Far Cry 5 offline, lol. You need a profile for everything.

I would purchase PS4 PRO or PS5 both of which CAN be jailbroken. I don't play video games but I was able to mod my brothers PS4 Pro and all games are now free and obviously playable offline.

After some more research I have found out that technically the console can be used offline, but one MUST have an xbox live account and sign in with it at least once AND turn the console to their home console.

It apparently only works for one console per account, so you have to chose wisely.

Any other consoles you may own you won't be able to play and save offline.

Once you have chosen your home console, you can then go offline forever, afaik, and save offline.

But if your console is hardware banned from the xbox live network, you can't even sign in, and if you can't do that you can't turn said console into your home console.

In other words I am shit out of luck.

I will salvage the 1 tb ssd m.2 drive for my PC and other parts of the console I will sell.

Afaik the mainboard and cpu / apu are worthless now because they are what is really banned.

Since the disc drive is married to the mainboard, it too is worthless, but if you want to use that foreign drive in your system, you just have to use the board of your disc drive on the foreign drive and it should work.

The system fan can also probably be sold as well as maybe the case.
