that's true, but obito was 13 at the time and his motivation wasn't rin, he viewed the world in a much more abstract manner, a world in which someone like rin was forced to kill herself over some retarded war was a rotten world worth destroying. madara could have convinced him to go ER a multitude of other ways, rin was just the easiest.

Sure it's context into his character. But love for Rin was not the driving force for his actions. Watching his friends die made him realise that this world is not worth keeping about. Which is kinda true because the Naruto world is messed up. They don't show the worse details because it's a PG-13 cartoon

I am not basing it on manga but personal experience. The messed up nature of Naruto verse goes beyond a dead crush. And adult obito is not a stupid teenager anymore. There is a conviction to his actions. He didn't give a shit about Kakashi, I doubt he would give a shit about RinMaybe it's cuz I haven't read naruto in a decade but.....im sorta doubtful of that.

Not enough depth, but as you can see I put him at the top of all the akatsukis that I don't love. I only dislike F tier, E tier I don't care about, C are fine and mostly arranged by coolness factor, A and B I like, S I love.

He himself says the reason isn't Rin and Kakashi but it clearly is, her death was his breaking point and it was also the reason he unleashed the nine tails on Konoha out of spite for making them fight their wars and causing Rin's death
It is his breaking point but the point is he would've snapped to an extant at some point in his life even if he didn't see Rin get clapped. The only petty thing he did imo was turn the Mist village into a battle royale shithole just because they were the ones chasing rin the night she died.
