i loved reading about napoleon back in high school.
his best battle was the battle of austerlitz. one of his divisions came to the rescue just in time to defeat the austrians and russians.
actually, that division went on a day long march in rapid speed towards austerlitz. when they got there after that long march, they didn't rest and went straight into battle.
can you imagine being a french soldier in that division? You march your ass for the entire day as fast as possible to make it to Napoleon only to immediately engage in battle.
I highly recommend you guys look up the battle of austerlitz. it was epic.
to this day, militaries still use the division set up that napoleon used. the army is divided into divisions. basically smaller self sufficient armies within the army. this allows for them to spread out to take control over more territory or flank, yet small and mobile enough to come to the aid of other divisions.
when the austrians and russians saw that division come out of nowhere through the fog they knew the game was over.
as for the movie, i didn't like it. the other movies about napoleon were much better. this one focused way too much on his love life.
