i hate old 2d residents they are just unplayable with gameplay forcing you to avoid encounters like a pussy, pointless puzzles and endless looking for keys/cards only make it even slower and less fun, only since RE4 this series has become playable. Parasite Eve 1/2 and Dino Crisis 1/2 mogged hard old RE games

Eh, forcing you to not fight enemies is fairly clever and works well for a horror game. Resource management adds depth.
But it doesn't entertain me, getting bitten while maneuvering through zombies makes me angry and want me to reload save, ain't it kinda opposite what devs have intended? I always hated horror games and there is nothing to be scared of in RE games as they were never scary.
It's not supposed to be fun. It's supposed to be tense. If you don't like it then it's not for you. Personally I find og re boring too. RE 4 is more tense to me because you have to constantly worry about what's behind you.
