I gotta leave soon, but I'll check this thread later.

Always loved Greek. The Titans, The Gods, The Demigods

Shout-out to Perseus.

Homer/Omero is pretty good. The Iliad, the Odyssey.

Also, Percy Jackson.

Sarpedon is one of my favorites. Remember?

And Patroclus because he slaughtered many Trojans in the armor of Achilles. He was almost as strong as Achilles in battle.

I admit being quite into Norse mythology. Don't know, most likely because of my passion for black metal.

Honestly enough, if I were to choose a favourite god, that would be Tyr, the righteous one; the god of justice law and courage.

My favourite myth would most likely be the death of Baldr, I particularly enjoyed Snorri Sturluson's prose Edda (read it both in English and in Romanian).

I also enjoy reading old Romanian fairy tales, after all they are part of my heritage and culture.

Too bad that nothing of ancient Dacian mythology remains to this date, it would have been very interesting to read of Zalmoxis, Gabeleizis, Bendiz and all the other gods. Beside their name and their attributes, nothing much is still known.

Hephaestus was the only ugly god among perfectly beautiful immortals. He was the son of Zeus and Hera. Hephaestus was born deformed and was cast out of heaven by one or both of his parents when they noticed that he was imperfect. In most accounts, Aphrodite is named as his wife, although she was unfaithful to him (with Ares, for one). Theirs was an arranged marriage by Zeus himself to stop the fighting over Aphrodite by the other male Gods.

Athena_Scorning_the_Advances_of_Hephaestus.jpg

The ugliness of Hephaestus was sufficient for Hera to immediately reject the baby, and so the Greek goddess was said to have thrown her child off of Mount Olympus, and after a long fall, Hephaestus fell into the sea near to the island of Lemnos.

His own mother threw him down to the earth because of his ugliness. He was treated like filth by his own mother because of his deformities. Hephaestus had no place in this world of perfect beings.

Thor in the Land of the Giants is my favorite Norse Myth other than maybe Ragnarok. Eastern European mythology is based as fuck too with shit like the Wild Hunt.

Its an actual myth lol. I liked it before the Witcher even came out.
I know it's actual myth but I discovered it thanks to the game

I thought, like, The Olympians burst from Cronus' head or something, but I'm having trouble finding that myth.

Maybe it was The Titans burst from Chaos' head.

Somebody was bursting out of somebody's head, dammit!

What? The Gods were swallowed whole by Kronos in fear of them rising to power. When Kronos went to consume the youngest of the Gods, Zeus, Rhea gave Kronos a large rock instead to swallow. Zeus grew up to release the Gods and cut his father into pieces.

Maybe you're thinking about the birth of Athena.

That might be where I'm going wrong.

when you study also the original text in ancient greek you are bound to remember things much better, anyway I also read such things on my own

also, other ( things )

I always liked how The Odyssey wrapped up.

Firing an arrow through all of those axe heads, remembering that the bed was immovable because it was made from a tree or something.

It was a large pimp moment when Odysseus rolled back to town.

lol but pimp=? why pimp now

lol but pimp=? why pimp now

Over here, pimp is synonymous with a person of high status; a bad motherfucker

it's not just one who controls whores, but that's where the term of endearment sprang from
