Been doing this damn pushup challenge and it's killing me. I should have paced myself more but I think my shoulder is fucked up. I still have another 100 to do today and 180 tomorrow. It's done after the 28th so hopefully I don't injure myself before then.
 
Are you leaning too forward? And tuck your elbows in. I only found shoulder pain during push ups if you are flaring elbows

I might have done that once. It started hurting Saturday, so I think I did it then. I'm usually good with form, but one slip up at my age is trouble

Yea I had horrible back pain that went away after I drank something with every vitamin known to man in it.

If you are getting shoulder pain take a break

If you injure yourself you will have even more problems to deal with.
 
Also if you have a band do band pull aparts before pushups

I had some shoulder pain when bench pressing and doing them helped with the pain.

A year ago, my record was 42 consecutive. I tried a couple of months ago and struggled to get past 35. The amount of constant upkeep to keep yourself from basically melting as you get older is brutal. I did this in part to try to get back to where I was and to prove to myself I can do it. Unfortunately, it's been more difficult than I thought and I dread becoming an weak old man.

I see. So the motive is not the same. The young people who do these things are driven to reach their full potential and grow (but I never had that drive, personally), while you do it to not get worse.
