My only "friend" was my psychiatrist

During our 15 minute meetings 4 times a year for 10 years he was nice to chat to. But I gave up on meds about 9 months ago and wanted to try life without them. I was never sure they were helping me anyway but I took them because I was afraid to stop.

Did anyone else feel like their only friend was their psychiatrist or therapist? That's one benefit of paying for one, I guess. Someone to talk to, a "friend" even if it's fake.
