I'm going to bold what seems to be better.
Not collecting treasures prevents stealing.
I actually like this. You can only know happiness if you suffer though frankly I'm not sure if this is true.Under heaven all can see beauty as beauty only because there is ugliness.
I actually like this. Women should learn this way of thinking. They expect men to have a job and if men don't have jobs, they don't want to reproduce with them. This realization makes me realize I overlooked some verses in The Bible: "the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil." "Keep your lives free from the love of money, and be content with what you have." "choose insight over income every time."Claim wealth and titles, and disaster will follow.
The sage stays behind, thus he is ahead.
Through selfless action, [the sage] attains fulfillment.
Accept misfortune as the human condition.
Observers of the Tao do not seek fulfillment.
I like this because I don't completely like Tao (like "Doing without taking credit,...This is Primal Virtue." and "He has not experienced the union of man and woman, but is whole" and "the sage wears rough clothing"When the great Tao is forgotten, Kindness and morality arise.
This is why we should trust, and stay faithful, to God. Maybe my favorite quote in this text, but does it matter to be trusted or not?He who does not trust enough Will not be trusted.
When goodness is lost, there is kindness.
Cioran said something similar but I guess I can repeat this. For one gains by losing And loses by gaining.
I think gun control is good, but I guess this quote doesn't really matter. The sharper men's weapons, The more trouble in the land.
If there is a good store of Virtue, then nothing is impossible.
The Tao of heaven is to take from those who have too much and give to those who do not have enough
