Im convinced this is one big reason why im such a beta male she mainly did this during puberty when the testosterone started to kick in. Whenever I would exhibit normal masculine behavior such as being aggressive, rough and dangerous play, being competitive and expressing anger she should discourage me from doing this because "I was being to mean". My mom didnt really know how to raise a boy properly because all my siblings are girls. I think my dad didn't want my mom to do this but he is to much of a suck up to her so he didn't tell her not to. I really wish my dad would have been the main influence in my life instead of my mom I think my personalty would have been a lot different and he would have taught me things like how to stand up for myself and be confident and competitive.
