My Life as a Teenage Robot was a disappointment.

The show which aired on Nickelodeon has an iconic robot waifu and was ahead of its time. It also features a ricecel in love with her.

Here is the plot for those who don't know: A female robot was created to protect the town of Tremorton from natural disasters. She befriends a Chad, Chad's younger brother, and the ricecel. Throughout their adventures the ricecel (Sheldon) falls more and more in love with her robotic self. However, the feeling isn't mutual and that is what ruins this series for me.

I mean, the dude is perfect for her: he is a robotics geek who can repair her and does so at every opportunity. Yet she chooses to friendzone & take advantage of him in order to continue being infatuated with Brad (the Chad).

Sheldon being the loser was supposed to be comedic but I just found it sad and relatable. In the end his efforts were wasted because the show got cancelled.

I remember feeling enthusiastic about this particualr cartoon simply because it featured a hyperactive female main character and I wasn't used to it. Literally the two cartoons I watched not because I had nothing else to do at a moment but because they were actually decent and made me want to watch them. Well there were a few decent others, but they were skippable 99% of the time.
