The problem is not "white people," it is Indians that suck up to white people and their society. Let's make that clear.
I've experienced this first-hand. One of my former closest friends was Indian (Tamilian) on his father's side. (he looked as if he was completely Indian on both sides, though his mother was white: as is often the case.) He was so derogatory, condescending, and dismissive to his own country. (growing up he'd travel there to see his father's family every year, good people unlike the people on his mother's side...but he was always bored, even dreaded it. He never learned Tamil.) Once I expressed an interest in going there, and he retorted,
"why India?" This is despite the fact my standard of living would only go up if I moved somewhere affordable like India, though in fairness it also would if I moved to many other countries like Mexico. I never said there is anything that unique about India, though I've always been fond of it: the rich history, culture, religion, the people. (he actually said he thought I was "fetishizing" it.) The reason these people are like this is obviously because they are upper-class Americans that want to fit into this (predominantly white) society. They despise their own countrymen and kin because they see them and the poverty they suffer as a threat to their own upper-class, American, first-world lifestyle, and of course on a world-scale this arrangement is one perpetuated by mostly white people. (the rulers who were responsible for the U.S. assault on Vietnam were wealthy white people, just some of the soldiers were black or Hispanic.)
I would know, I'm Iranian. Iranian-Americans, or "Persians" as they often refer to themselves, hate poor Iranians in Iran. But I'm happy the 1979 Revolution happened, despite not being a religious Muslim. In the case of India, the Parsis share my ethnic heritage, the Muslim minority comprising 204 million people share my religious heritage. (if they formed a country, it would be the third largest Muslim-majority country on earth, just behind Pakistan.)
