You all know these "untranslatable terms" that exist in one language but have no direct equivalent in other languages. My favorite untranslatable term is German:

"Writing desk criminal" - someone who doesn't really commit a crime herself, but who gives her OK to a crime commited. This is pretty much how I see most people around me these days: as "writing desk criminals" or as "voting booth criminals" who have blood on their hands for supporting this criminal system.
