Parents are waiting too long to have kids in the west, and it's having disastrous effects on our gene pool. They don't want to get married at 25 because they "want to enjoy their youth". So they get married when they're nearly 30, and then they wait even longer to have kids. I get the logic, you want to make sure you're in a good financial situation before having kids....but the fact of the matter is it's better to be lower middle class and have a child with good genes than to be upper middle class and have a son with shitty genes. You can keep climbing the economic ladder but your kid's genes are set in stone. The fact is, it doesn't matter what schools you send your son to or what kind of neighborhood you raise him in, if he has an IQ of 80 or has autism, he's going to have a shitty life.
You have so many parents who might have average or above average genes, but wait until they're over 35 to have kids and then when their son has a shit ton of problems in high school, drops out of college and becomes a NEET who stays in his bedroom playing video games and watching chinese cartoons, they're left scratching their heads wondering "what went wrong?".
If you're not ready to have kids by 30, then don't have kids at all. It's that simple.
I've tried discussing this issue many time with people both online and in real life and most people just don't get it. The only places where people seem to get it are incel and chan boards. Everywhere else, everyone relentlessly defends the idea of having kids past the age of 35. I could show them half a dozen studies on this and they'll completely dismiss them all. I suspect part of the reason for this is many of them plan on having kids much later in life themselves, and they don't want to accept the risks of doing so. They want to completely absolve themselves from responsibility for how their (future) children turn out genetically. It fucking pisses me off to no end.

Real life isn't like a children's competition where everyone gets a reward just for participation. In real life if you fail, it means you wasted time, effort, and potentially money in an endeavor that was ultimately fruitless.
