By junior year, I was depressed and lonely but still pretty bluepilled. I got bad one-itus for this girl even though she was flat as board and looked unhealthily skinny, especially in the face. I didn't think she'd be easy but I did think there wouldn't be a lot of competition.
Anyways, I slowly push my way into her friend group, jestermaxxing for the tyrones to try and get them to like me. Eventually I ask her out, retardly thinking the worst she can say is no. Bad move. Of course she friendzones me and a week later the entire friendgroup turned on me. It was like an immune response. Everyone started constantly making fun of me for getting curbed and eventually for other stuff too.
Haven't really tried making friends since then. I think you have to figure that out early and if you don't you're just fucked.
