At last...
The inevitable happened.
A noteworthy conclusion that nothing lasts forever.
"Unmountable Boot" - BSOD screen.
However, i Will get my Windows XP SP3 back together again!
I've been studying.

It may be of a good notice!
This is my first time installing an OS all by myself.
No one.. and i really mean no one.. Gives a living fuck anymore.
So i have to do all this myself.

The despair chapter is long gone.
But i'll have to wait till March so my mom can gather some money, Im getting an HDD 7200rpm disk with 500gb.
350gb will be partitioned over here on a Win10 computer, using Minitool Partition Wizard 9.
Why you may ask?
New HDD's usually have 4K sectors, if they are directly partitioned in a Windows XP setup, it won't be wise long term, due to misallignment.
Its the same thing for SSD's in retro computers.

I got my OS, the drivers, a clean case with everything on it, a special alcohol "isopropyl" was used to service dust cleaning with a brush, i did the disassembly myself and vice versa..

All i need now is to burn the OS to a CD, including the drivers of Creative Soundblaster Live! 5.1 SB0200 soundcard.
My BIOS is essentially good to go, with first boot device - CD Rom.

Life can be shit, and then from the shit, something Decent can turn out of it.
Even if that "Decent thing" returns to shit one day.
So it is.

@RechargedSamsung Thots?

Also who's alt is this?

19 years is a good life for a HDD, can't complain. I've burned through plenty in that time.

My Samsung plasma tv from 2013 lasted me awhile
Mine from 2011 is still Alive, except the infra-red sensor "the thing responsible for the TV controller and the stand-by mode" isnt working anymore.
It could also be a power supply issue.

To fix this, you need to diagnose it first with a minus and a positive electrical signal to a receiver to determine if there is a bad capacitor.

If you are lucky finding an entire working set "the board itself" online, buy it for your TV model.

I swear you came back on another account a couple months ago but I forget the name of it. What happened to it?
I took a crap on it, and forgot about it.
Timeline shifts and all that jazz.

I reformat my drives at least once per year because I delete all my porn and then move everything around and organize for no reason

You niggers need to download crystaldiskinfo and test that shit.

It can ward off disaster.

Showing you which drives are on the verge of death well ahead of time.

Anyway you got any recovery tools or software to try and get your info back bro?

I have a TCL TV (2023) I forgot the model of it

But thanks for this info m8

I bought a 32" 1080p TV for $45 from Best Buy a few weeks ago

They're so cheap why bother fixing

Why would you wear down your hardware for no good reason?

Ahh.. Goldy!

Its not a problem.
I made an archive in 2021 ahead of this scenario, with all the games and save files.
Also saved the Windows settings with a camcorder.

The right thing to keep your HDD from dying, is to clone it to another, if your machine is stable enough.

Im happy to Share wisdom!
I use it regularly and it's vital since I buy all my HDDs for dirt cheap off ebay
Seagate sucks, just so you know.

If it is a Decent plasma TV, learning how to fix it is well worth it.
Mainly, if you have already recallibrated to your tastes.

Do you get a better price than $140 for 8tb? That's what I paid for a new WD a couple months ago. Also $140 for a 2tb NVME with dram cache (sn850x).

I don't know that I would want to buy a used HD

It would make sense for legacy computers.
If you cant find older components for new.

But we find ways around it, that dont compromise a distasteful heartbrake.

Yeah I suppose if you buy old PCs with the hds might as well just buy the hds. Bleach them with a cloth though.

Isopropyl alcohol.

The latest I bought was $60 for 8tb. My rule is under $8/tb. These are used ones though, and the listings need to have CrystalDisk or whatever that shows usage and errors.

Have you bought any that were duds or do they generally last you a long while?

One was a dud with the seller lying about the condition and I got it refunded no problem. Other than that, it's 7 that worked fine for years with no problems, 1 4TB got errors a month after I bought it but it was $25 so meh, and 1 I broke due to my own stupidity.
