I had this amazing melody in my head yesterday when I was walking to the chicken place I usually go for dinner. I imagined how I can add some low-effort generic hip-hop drum pattern in the background and the track would still sound great.
I got surrounded by this warm and fuzzy feeling that I can finally get more than 10 listeners with this cool new track, only to realize the chicken place was closed, then got distracted.
Half an hour ago I started staring at my DAW, trying to recall the melody I had in mind. It was gone, completely. No matter how hard I try to replay in my mind, it sounds different, and never as good. For the next couple of days I'll be continuously haunted by the idea of this missed chance.
