@honorarycurry @Caesercel what you think of this inspiration from Black Sabbath?

It’s a cool reference. The composer of Final Fanatsys music took a lot of inspiration from ELP, which you can hear here:They do sound similar to me as far as the rythm and the melody goes, but I would say its most likely a coincidence. There are only so many patterns that sound good in music.
Ah nvm for some reason I read what you said as that they sound similar not that one is inspired from the other, maybe cuz of what the other guy said about the melody
The manga artwork is the reason I decided to read it over watching the anime. It is superb. On a side note the manga looks so good I wish I had read it before watching the anime

@honorarycurry thots? They’re like proto-prog/metal
Yeah, they’re early stuff is based. Can hear Deep Purples influence on them.Nice I wasnt aware Uriah heep was so heavy back in the early 70s
Sorry, I meant to say they were proto progmetal. Like what Rush and Dream Theatre do. I’m unsure if they had any influence on Sabbath.Zeppelin was definitely sabbath’s biggest influence but I believe Uriah Heep like you say, Blue Cheer
(

) and other less known bands such as Iron Claw:

Yeah, I’m aware of Cloven. Black Widow is another band that heavily influenced the metal imagery especially with their stage performances.were an inspiration too. Of course DP too.
Also have you heard about this band called Coven? It might be one of the first known rock bands to feature occult themes in its music. One of their songs is called black sabbath and one of it’s members calls himself Oz Osborne xD
Geezer Butler was also very interested in the occult at that time but chances are he never got to hear this band because their music was prohibited. The name BS most likely comes from a popular horror movie
My bad I had just woken up then and didn’t read carefullyYeah, they’re early stuff is based. Can hear Deep Purples influence on them.

Yeah it’s a funny coincidence at best. I know it’s common for those named Osbourne to get the Ozzy nicknameI saw an interview with Iommi regarding Coven, I think the parallels are coincidental at best considering Black Sabbath is a fairly famous horror film and Ozzy was going by that name prior to either bands founding. Osbourne in a game show stated the origins of their band name.
I love troubleOn a side note, have you seen the film Spinal Tap?
Trouble and Witchfinder General are based bands influenced by Black Sabbath.
This is heavy as fuck, Jesus Christ.
Ever hear Sir Lord Baltimore?

@PointOfNoReturn what do you think about this controversial album?
Ian Gillan is my favourite rock vocalist too. incredible vocal range and tone.Based since it has my favorite rock vocalist, Ian Gillan. Thrashed, Disturbing the Priest, Zero the Hero, and Born Again are all great Sabbath songs. Thrashed is like Black Sabbath’s “Highway Star“, lmao.
The unmixed demos, “The Manor Tapes”, is one of my white whale vinyls. Too bad there’s only 300~ pressings and they never pop up for sale.
My only complaint is at some points it can be lyrically weak, or cheesy. Like on Zero the Hero.
