PREFACE:
My dad is a 60 year old, twice divorced, weed smoking, porn addicted, 'born again' MSTOW.
Over the past two years I've seen his youtube history devolve (or evolve?) from dating 'advice' from "wing women" to Rich Coper & Legion of Men.
He came to Christmas lunch as a typical free agent red piller. Faggy loafers, blinding hawaiian shirt under a sports jacket and... beach shorts. Topped off on his glimmering bald head with a fedora and aviators. I really felt bad, that's something I hate about being relatively young. I just feel a horrid dissociation as we entered the rest home to see my grandmother. But anyway, my dad has been watching wayyy too much Rich Coper, he even bust out his retirement savings early to buy a sports car, he still ended up just sitting on the couch alone drinking beer, just like every other year. All that learning just to bitch out because even he knows deep down the truth. I'd feel pity but he's spent my entire life trying to brainwash me with the usual normie lies whilst simultaneously leaving me to the wolves.
MAIN POINT:
In Hans Christian Andersen's tale, the emperor is convinced by swindlers that they are clothing him in a magnificent, invisible-to-the-unworthy fabric. Similarly, in the manosphere, particularly within the red pill community, there's an allure of gaining "hidden knowledge" that supposedly elevates one's status or understanding of social dynamics, especially in male-female relationships. This "knowledge" often involves adopting a hyper-masculine persona, which might give men, particularly those feeling unattractive or of low status, a sense of power or superiority. However, like the emperor, the perceived value is a flight in the mind of the beholder, leading to a false sense of self-importance and enlightenment.
The manosphere often promotes ideals of masculinity that are exaggerated and lead by the opinion of men whom I'm not gonna lie have got to be GAY, suggesting that by adopting these behaviors or beliefs, one can transcend their current social or personal standing. Yet, this often doesn't align with the broader social reality where such attitudes are seen as toxic and out of touch, much like the emperor parading naked, thinking he's dressed in the finest regalia.
Just as the emperor was supported by his courtiers who feared appearing foolish, members of the manosphere find echo chambers where their views are reinforced, creating a bubble where their perceived status is celebrated. Places like incel exit and tears purposely construct these falsehoods that they are the empathetic know all saviors failing to realize even they can be sorted and stereotyped.
The initial exposure to red pill content feels like an all revealing, invigorating hit of smelling salts. It gives a rush of confidence and a new lens to view the world. But just as the effect of smelling salts is temporary and doesn't address underlying issues, the boost from red pill ideology never leads to lasting personal growth or better relationships. Instead, it just fosters resentment, misunderstanding, and further isolate individuals from meaningful social interactions. The energy and time invested never yields the promised transformation or happiness, leading to a realization that the initial excitement was perhaps misguided or unproductive.
People forget but even the most famous incel '3R' was far more of a victim to redpill than any other doctrine. He got in shape (many don't know he was also very fat as seen in his leaks ipod photos) and tried his best to 'run game' at parties. He was the perfect example of the emperor's new clothes effect. He bought the fit straight off the mannequin and it didn't do him right because he was not a chad. It's these guys even we have to watch for. They sink between the couch cushions crushed underneath chad and stacies doubled weight and they come out a 10 cent coin in a digital world where kids aren't even wanting them to buy a lolipop at the candy store. They will be shiny but they will be worthless. In any place at any time you will always choose a $50 note over a 10 cent coin. There is just no beating inherant value.
'Self improvement' is just voluntary stasis. If you do it you will just end up like that guy in interstellar watching the tv crying as his whole family withers away without him.
Cope and use that numbness to work and get money, and then use it for more copes. It doesn't get any better.
And if you are going to fall for the lies of any courtiers then do it young. Any social gains after 18 are marginal.
I'm probably preaching to the choir here with this one. I won't take the DNR's personally.
