Typical trope of shonen anime that their main character is a retard who loves fighting and eating. I think it's a close tie between Luffy from One Piece and Natsu from Fairy Tail tbh. I haven't watched Fairy Tail in about 10 years so don't remember much about him but I do remember dropping the show in part because he was so dumb and annoying (personality and voice).

As for Luffy that nigga is dumb as rocks probably would be classified as clinically retarded in real life. How people always have to explain him everything as if he was a little kid and letting only feelings guide his life instead of reason or logic. If it weren't for his homies he would have died early in the story from his own stupidity.

Saying Goku is cheating because he hit his head when he was young so he has a reason to be so stupid.

I haven't watched Shippuden so don't know like half of the story. But in Naruto part 1 while he was kinda dumb (and not because he failed the beginner ninja exam many times) he could get serious when needed and seemed way smarter than the other shonen characters Luffy or Goku.

Agree to degree it's not really deep but let's be real most of shounens aren't besides HiatusxHiatus, JJK enjoyable fights but dogshit story mostly, OP...lol even naruto has some mature themes will OP only way that it's considered a ''masterwork'' is due that it's not finished like BLEACH or Naruto, Bleach has great artstyle but dogshit worldbuilding ( muhh muhh CFYOW ) AND DOGSHIT story ( repeative arcs and patterns ), YYH ? A decent manga who is sadly overrated ? CSM is...Fun but mindless fun with great art designs.

I watched OG Naruto very recently, only a couple of months ago. (Haven't watched shippuden yet, might watch it until the Pain Arc in the future)

There were some positives like the characters (the part which I enjoyed the most) Kakashi was my favourite out of Team 4, the side-characters were enjoyable like Neji, Shikamaru, Kiba, Lee and Choji. (Especially in Sasuke Retrival) I liked Orochimaru as a villian, and he has a good theme. Tsunade was hot. Jiraiya and Itachi were good aswell.

Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura were my least favourite characters. Sasuke was just Kurapika but edgy, Naruto was a cuck and well, Sakura well is... you know.

I liked some arcs like Konohama Crush and the Tsunade arc.

It just seemed like Hunter X Hunter but with ninjas. The Chunin Exams felt like it was ripped straight of of HxH.

I'd rate it as a 7/10, good, but not a masterpiece.
