nobody gives a shit about new games anymore. Every tweet is “where’s my 90s kids at” and “what was the best game from 2003?” etc.

Everyone’s still living in the past, any posts or news about new games is met with scorn 90% of the time.

Take from that what you will.

You can argue some genres peaked over 20 years ago. I'd argue Fallout 1 is still the best CRPG in many ways, and MMO's haven't been good for a very long time. However this doesn't mean you can't find a lot of enjoyment in modern titles, it just means you can appreciate some older games.

gaming peaked in ps2 xbox era list of legendary games during that era is insane just look at the library and compare it to the volume and quality of games we get. It is hard to ignore difference. That said i also hate doomers who just refuse to see good games coming out

can't blame them too much, modern gamedevs put themselves in a corner

Good. That is good.

Modern games suck or are mediocre

I'd argue it's because a lot of modern games are dogshit and not memorable at all tbh.

It's what happens when you fill your entire industry with DEI hires.

There are two reasons for that:

a. Modern gaming has become incredibly soulless and sanitized. Even normalfags are starting to notice this, which fuels nostalgia for the classics.

b. Zoomers seek validation and want to be seen as real gamers, but they don’t genuinely enjoy old games. They often pretend to like them simply because their favorite YouTuber praised them.

My dude only old game people play are live service games Fortnite is old as hell only people care about old games are boomers

Modern games suck shit, it's not even because of nostalgia. There's so many old games I've been playing recently that absolutely mog modern games.

I don't have huge experience with twitter but from what i have come across i noticed that there are tons of fakers pretending to be gamers.

I would categorize them in three groups.

1) The one that claims to be "anti-woke" and pro-fanservice.
They post random (barely/safe) fanservicy screenshots/clips without ever mentioning anything else. It's easy to tell that they don't know much about the games they post since some of those were made by pro - ESG/DEI companies and were hit by censorship, or contain "woke elements". Stellar Blade is the most obvious.
2) The paid/unpaid shills.
Most of the time if not always it's about promoting new games that were made by pro - ESG/DEI companies. A massive campaign of posts containing sales numbers/scores and the same repeated words. Few examples : Just finished "X game" and it was awesome - "X game" is GOTY - You can do this awesome thing (some retarded QTE/mini game) in this game - Looks so beautiful, amazing graphics.
3) Normie retards & Sheepy casuals.
Their favorite games are often popular and have high metacritic scores. They love bragging about day 1 buy & pre-ordering and they always equate sales numbers and metascore to the quality of the game as it's often seen in their posts. When they post things that they find impressive it's usually one or two generic lines accompanied by either a screenshot of a landscape, a QTE clip, a slow motion sequesnce, or a flashy button mashy combo.
