if you look at great rock bands like good charlotte, blink 182, simple plan, my chemical romance, green day, twenty one pilots... all these bands in the beginning had more solitude lyrics and angrier sounds. an anger that looking at you thinks: this person certainly couldn't get laid.
for sure the biggest incentive for them to create these bands was the sexual one. all the pop songs like ed sheeran/shawn mendes if you look at it are shit because they don't have sexual energy, they're extremely bland songs. this is also why most rock bands are male dominated, women don't have that sexual incentive to be creative.
