Any snake bosses. When I was little, I would stop playing games with them as I'm terrified of snakes.
The boss at the end of level 3 from the Amiga SHMUP game, Disposable Hero. Look at how the guns built into its arms have tubes implanted into the bloody, raw stumps of its wrists. Also, the creature itself looks like it has had its biomass grow all over the surrounding walls and floor.
Also, its second form, as when it takes enough damage, its face becomes bloodied like this and its tongue falls off and a pair of cannons emerge out of its mouth.
