I want to go against the grain here and say that you guys seem to tend to focus on extreme outliers,
in my experience most couples are quite looksmatched,
I look at my facebook and all the people I knew in highschool are nearly married now and they are ALL married with a looksmatch

the hot ones have a decent hot match at least,
the averages have averages,
the uglies are with uglies

check your facebook highschool friends you might be surprised
and in the streets I feel it's mostly the same too

This used to be the case. But nowadays I see a lot more average or above average guys with fat and/or ugly girls. That's just my observation as an oldfag and I've heard this from many other men in Western countries.
