And while there's a lot of news about circumventing the slowdown in Moore's law with things like quantum computing there haven't been any breakthroughs I've heard of.

Moore's law won't survive in 10 years by then 1nm chips will become available. The true hope for robotic foids is new cpu/gpu architectures.
