In most shows there a two different classes of men:
a) Love interests (=men that women find attractive/that get fucked by the protagonist): Mostly good-looking, tall men that either fit into the category of the:
himbo (muscular/extremely good-looking man, masculine archetype, extremely unintelligent, but devoted to a female, with his stupidity being shown as something adorable, basically a walking dildo and household-help extremely gifted in physical tasks, easily commanded around)
or the
androgynous pretty boy (mostly for teen shows, has long hair, would be in Asia called Bishonen, extremely lanky, if muscles then with six pack, perfect craniofacial structure, metrosexual way of dressing up, intelligent enough to have a basic conversation with, but no personality traits apart from devotion to the female love interest, basically a heterosexual with a fag way of behaving/dressing up)
both of them are seen as adorable pets for a woman and nothing more, women keep them around because they want to due to their physical desirability, the men they fuck are the only ones with remotely redeeming qualities, but still get portrayed as inherently inferior walking dildos or pretty assets at best that combat their hereditary guilt that is associated with being born male
b) All the other men (=sub-chads that women find unattractive):
Can be everything else lookswise, simply defined as non love-interest, is mostly the villain of the show, mostly no redeeming qualities or irrelevant personality traits, they are either portrayed as:
1) complete retards: too stupid to know what's wrong/right, a laughable threat at best (that's why in most media with female protagonists there is no tension because the woman is perfect and therefore any male antagonist not a threat which releases the tension from every scene involving them), the only reason for them to be in the story is to elevate the protagonist/by functioning as a foil, they are the laughing stock, they get constantly humiliated by the female protagonists that constantly insult him with him having no power both mentally and physical to fight back, the chewing toy of both characters and writers, if he has a motivation besides stupidity it is jealousy
2) comically evil villains: permanently spends every minute on the screen trying to attack/torture/insult others, has no humanity, probably strangles kittens and rapes grannies/babies in the spare time, cannot make one coherent plan because his sadism gets in the way, sometimes overlaps with the complete retard but this time with malevolence and stupidity combined as reasons for opposing the protagonist, often an outlet for daddy issues (it's mostly a middle-aged white man portraying that character), basically an irredeemable hell spawn, is either a statusmaxxer (a rich CEO/banker/military official/professor, an unattractive/old man that left the genetic caste system behind by trying to better himself economically, is successful in other areas of life apart from dating, the nightmare of feminists) or if less socially successful a serial killer/rapist (although sometimes statusmaxxers can be that too)
villainous respect doesn't exist for male villains (that is only reserved for female antagonists that get portrayed as bastions of competence, admirable and if evil at all only rebelling in a more extreme way against le evil males)
3) cannon fodder: a person whose entire personality is helping the protagonist (the asexual/completely altruistic simp), will in one episode sacrifice himself for the female which is the highpoint of his life, will be forgotten in the next episode, only exists to give his life for the improvement of female life quality
unattractive males/males that they don't fuck are portrayed as villains (out of stupidity and/or sheer sadism) that get humiliated to elevate a female or as persons who should at best sacrifice themselves for a woman (which is the most memorable action in their otherwise completely worthless life)
TL; DR: Attractive males are portrayed as valuable assets for a female, males they don't fuck as either villains or drones that willingly sacrifice themselves to improve the life quality of a female - this is indicative off how women think about men, because they make/celebrate these works!
