Modder behind the 'Swiss army knife of PC gaming' deletes their 20 year-old Steam account with anti-Valve manifesto

I really don't care about PC gamers opinions. Just a bunch of dumb ape shit posters that took a meme to fair and now are basically fucked because they will own nothing soon

Told us to switch to ubisoft plus or EA... This has to be a jew writing this shit.

stupid retard complaining about steam not supporting 30 year old software. Literally a non-issue

:feelshaha: What a pointless rant, talk about first world problems

Wow, this guy is retarded. He was already pushing it by whining about how Valve doesn't want to support literally multi-decade old software—but he then said to switch to Ubisoft.

Ubisoft.

Anyone who has EVER used Ubisoft knows how trash their launcher is.

Washed up C tier faggot tells us to switch platforms lul

Some points are valid like old games not running on new hardware while at same time Steam not supporting very old windowses which those games were released on, most devs don't give a shit about combability and just leave those games to rot, while at least on gog you have guarantee of them working on your new OS. Or that steam always forces updates on you and you are at mercy of a dev that they make separate branch from main.

But others are pure made up bs like controller shitty gimmicks not working, who the fuck cares? Nobody are supporting ultra old oses anyway. Do you really think you can run anything on epic games/uplay/ea crap launcher while using win98/xp? let's try it i would love to see it. Do you really think you can run xbox game pass store on win 7/8? Yeah i don't think so.

Or muh subscription not owning any games! Yeah no shit you already don't own anything even without paying monthly sub. What do you really think you can still play Darkspore or Bad Company 1/2 in online? Let's try doing that right now lmao.

Makes sense, though I don't think I will do the same.

However, the client constantly updating IS a problem, as I didnt want to update from windows 8.1 to whatever new one there is, but I have to as steam stopped working on windows 8.1.

The client should have been simple and universal, no updates required, such that it would work on every software with no problem.

Controller gimmicks not working is a valid complaint.

Retarded move

eh, he may be exaggerating a bit but I understand where he's coming from

one pet peeve of mine is what happened with the Steam Deck
so all steam games are supposed to be compatible with steam deck now, and everything is supposed to be a-ok right out of the box...
BUT
the steam deck is actually running every single game through a windows emulator running on linux, and performance can be all over the place depending on the game, especially if the game uses the CPU a lot (emulation costs CPU cycles)
this is hardly talked about and you basically just walk right into it while everyone acts like the steam deck runs any game perfectly

that's a huge pain in the ass if you ever either wanted to use a steam deck, or develop for a steam deck, or both
if you're a player you have to debug the game's performance yourself and try a dozen different Proton versions, usually with no luck
as a small developer all your players will expect the game to run on steam deck, and for you to go through the assrape of debugging how Linux emulates Windows to figure out why it's not emulating your game right
