The woman has all the power in those situations. If the guy tries to engage with her and calm her down, she will scream and make a big scene in front of everyone. If the guy tries to escape away from the situation, she will chase him down and scream at him even louder. Women have no shame or embarrassment so they can just yell their heads off until the police get involved.

I've only seen a handful of couples in twentysomething years, where the wife openly loved her husband, praised him, hugged or kissed him in public, looked at him lovingly, etc.
