If you ever end up being set on killing yourself despite this, I'd recommend trying to disappear before doing the act or making it so your dead body wouldn't be found. Make it look like you simply vanished so they at the very least won't feel the guilt associated with a child's suicide.

Yep that's my go-to plan if I ever find the courage. It's not perfect because they still have to cope with the loss of a family member but at least they won't feel guilty, as you said.
