Men mistaking casual compliments for flirting may be a bad thing but it's not their fault
There is a culprit for this phenomenon, but it's not men.
In fact, it's not even a person or a demographic of people!
It's the fact that men get compliment so rarely that when it happens it's very easy for them to mistake them as a sign of interest. It's literally that rare
The real culprit is not men as a demographic, but the rarity of compliments that men receive.
If we lived in a world where the average men gets the same amount of compliments as the average woman, men would stop mistaking compliments for flirting.
We should not criticize men for mistaking compliments for flirting. Look at the context they live in Can we actually blame they? I think not
