I've tried carnivore many times. Feels really good but gives me insomnia from hell and erectile dysfunction from hell. Keto I've tried several times too. Doesn't feel as mentally good but the side effects are lesser. I think pure carnivore raises estrogen severely if you're not doing it 100% organic. The fiber you're allowed on many keto plans helps buffer the estrogen I think.

How Long did you stick to it?
I went through the Adaptation Phase within 3 weeks. Before that I had the meat Sweats, rapid heart beat etc...

You also have to heed your fat/Protein balance. I ate a lot of butter on top of everthing. People often don't eat enough fat.
After I a while I got tired of chugging raw butter with salt so I just ate cheese with a high fat Content.
I did not experience insomnia and my dick is broken anyways because I fapped to porn from an early age.

In general, my sleep improved, my mood stablilized and my energy levels went up.
I had some issues with store bought pig meat though, it smelled horrible in the pan and the quality of the fat was horrible and disgusting.

But I am not dogmatic About the entire Thing. Different People handle Things differently, just do whatever works.
Maybe you are from a more Tropical Climate where the availability of fruits and vegetables is higher.
My ancestors have roots in northern europe and absolutely jackshit grows up there so I might be a bit more efficient at digesting meat.

The only reason I stopped the diet was because my parents interfered.

Makes sense. My heritage is from all over europe basically so maybe I have some carb needing Med genes or something. Certainly not tropical though lol.
Also I don't like the idea of having to adapt to any diet. Sounds more like a drug regiment to me. My real goal is to avoid 3 things- gluten, plant oils, and caffeine. I think basically anyone will feel better going that way regardless of what the rest of their diet is like.

The adapation is necessary though. If you are Eating a carb based diet, your gut microbiome can only handle carbs. The old Bacteria have to die off first and your Body Needs to foster the correct gut flora to Digest high amounts of meat.

Well, you could do a 23&me and figure out where your main Heritage originated. Like you said, if you have italian, Greek or spanish roots, you may do very well on a certain amount of plant matter.

I just know I like a bit of meat lel.

Why did you get interested in Nutrition? Did you want to loose weight? Or did you deal with IBS?
I gave it a shot because of the supposed mental Benefits after observing how carbohydrates made me lethargic and drowsy.

Yeah, I also wanted to get rid of my Depression but my parents interfered before I reached the threshold for mental Benefits (around 3 months).
I also wanted to see if it could help me with my anxiety and testosterone Levels.
