If you trust on the more present imbalance of power in such countries, once might take advantage of the stockholm syndrome, which is more complex and not as easy to describe. This of course doesn't mean that anybody should capture anyone. But i guess this syndrome could work pretty well also in an arranged marriage configuration outside the country where the women is from...
