There exist individuals who resided in an era devoid of divine messengers. For them, it is not in this life which there is a test, but in the next one.
If that is the case, if the only answer “x religion” can provide to the meaning of life is for it to be a test or show of endurance and if the negation of that test implies an absence of meaning (i.e. complete nihilism), what then do you make of the individuals mentioned above? It must follow from their mere existence and from these 2 assumptions that life, with respect to them, was inherently meaningless.
Corollary question : why do numerous exceptions exist to the purported test devised by the divine? What kind of deity would fail to create a test that operates universally and flawlessly?
