Mario Kart Wii was so good

It's amazing how much content the game had when it was released. It still has the best selection of characters and tracks in any Mario Kart game. I have such good memories of playing this game with siblings when I was younger.

Also, unlocking characters was so exciting and satisfying. I miss when you weren't given every character on a silver platter and when single player was actually hard. I'll still play Mario Kart Wii over 8 if given the choice of something to play with others.

True, i preordered it and played it to death back in the day. Too bad it's also extremely unbalanced with like 3 characters + inside drift bikes dominating

Yes, it was an amazing game. Also one of the hardest and most skill-based, contrary to the newer ones which do quite a bit of handholding.

I think there's a few mods by the community that allow you to play online to this day.

I can't play 8. There's no punishment for running into a wall. It doesn't even kill your momentum. Lakitu prevents punishment from falling. It's just so on rails and souless.
