Males no longer being named in crime reports

Something weird I've noticed about recent times is that whenever an assault or even a mass shooting is committed by a man, they will retract the name of the person in all news reports.

But if the assault is done by a woman, they will display her name in the reports.

Fuck this shit man. Who started this trend? I wonder if it was Jordan Peterson? He said something in 2019 about how retracting names from media will prevent people from committing crimes. They shit all over this guy and then follow his advice.
