Liking men ( and defending them against female hatred) is more controversial than loving men (and desiring them sexually).
You can love men and desire them, but simply liking them is almost a hate crime these days.

I was just reading something about gay marriage and thought how weird it is that if you're gay and romantically LOVE men, that's acceptable and the media, the system defends you (rightly so) --- but if you're NOT gay and do not love men but simply "like" them in the sense of "It's OK to be male" and in the sense of not being a feminist man-hater who wants to lock away all low-status men because they're inferior and dangerous etc., that's not acceptable.
