In the car market the average buyer doesnt purchase a car looking at its power or torque figures. the average buyer doesnt give a shit about how many bhps it got. The first thing the customer will check is how it looks.
Looks not only conveys the beauty of the product but the status and well being of the one that is using the product. There is a sense of happiness when people drive a good looking car.
A pontiac aztec with 1000 bhps will not get as many buyers as a bmw with a 200 bhp. what mattered in the decision to choose the car is looks.
A mini can have better personality such as better ride and handling but the customer doesnt give a shit because of how it looks.
