i dont mind old games so long as they arent very clunky and janky like hitman 1.
i dont care if they are slop with shit story, i want something with fast gunplay. maybe something difficult where you really need some shooter game skill

To name a few that i like: singularity; time shift; metro; black mesa; halo; bulletstorm; rage; total overdose; the old GTAs; painkiller; doom;

almsot finished fear 1 today. absolutely awesome. cant believe i played this badboy 20 years late when it gives a black mesa + stalker combination. I love the sound design and creepy ambience.

Oh, I remember another one...there is a game called Prey that came out in 2006. The 2017 game of the same name is not associated with it, but Prey 2006 is a very unique game.

You basically play as an alcoholic on a Cherokee Indian reservation who gets abducted along with his girlfriend onto a biomechanical alien ship known as The Sphere. It turns out that the aliens return every few million years or so to harvest the biomatter from worlds after seeding them with the organic compounds to develop life.

In any case, you must fight your way through the planet-sized ship using various weapons you scavenge along the way and all of the enemies, weapons, and ship textures are a disgusting blend of both mechanical and biological components.

I partially agree tbh, it's a product of its time, being released in the limelight of the War on Terror in combination with being one of the "first" games to directly engage with the player criticizing not only you but shooter tropes and heroes which surprised a lot of people, because back then normalfags and critics had the notion that games could only ever be fun. A lot of people missed stuff from Bioshock because of that mentality that is mostly gone now but replaced with the polar opposite. We can't ever have nice things

It's a very generic cover shooter, but it has an interesting message. I've seen people say the generic gameplay is on purpose but they're coping
