It's most likely an automated behavior by the forum software used to prevent eventual attacks. I run into this from time to time too, it often occurs after my IP has changed rapidly within a short timespan (Wifi in public transportation, using mobile data, IP changes at home due to my ISp assigning dynamic IPs that change every 24 hrs, ...) .
