I've watched a documentary about older peoples in winnebago traveling states to states and mostly stopping to walmart to get free electricity at night, and buying their stuff. Made me think that It would be a nice idea to do a road trip before roping.

I lived in a few vans. One was a old 70s "3 on the tree" standard white cargo van (it rusted into junk in 6 months), and the other was an automatic 90s white cargo van.
I liked them. I lived in them in the winter and summer (down by the river) for about 3-4 years... Just had to move alot or get a ticket... The legal limit for camping was 2 weeks at a "unimproved" camp site.

It was sweet. EXCEPT for the road/ trails... If you can drive there so can cops! (Forest rangers etc...)
Living "stealth camping" style in the city was much easier.
It costs a lot though. You have to have a buffer of $1000 plus of EMERGENCY (only) cash, because shit happens. Lots of bad expensive breakdowns can eat cash fast.
So besides, legal car insurance, the emergency cash is insurance too. (Tickets... Etc...)
Then there's gas and food.
It can be done cheaply, but not stupidly. Lots of people lose the very last of their stuff when the vehicle dies. Then you live out of a backpack. (Done that too)
that stuff is a scam. Parking lot are ok. But the bigger the crowd the shittier it is. Loud and not good at all. Only good for emergency overnights when nothing else can be found. Good place to get robbed of what little you may have.

I get money because of my disabilities so I never will have to live in a van, it does sound interesting though living out there I would want to try it out for a month and see how I do

Even when i was actually working - digging gemstones and mineral specimens - i said vacation. Because it's was illegal to "pick up rocks to sell!" But ok as a hobby...
Plus it makes you seem like a "real person" instead of a homeless bum.
... Also make it look clean around your area! So it always looks as if you just got there... Gives you extra time before you have to leave.
