Probably the wrong place to bring this up due to the lack of life experiences, but.....
I'm sitting here watching Terrace House 2019-2020, and I noticed that people in this country can literally make a living by working in service industries. Like its completely normal for a 25 year old man to be a part time sales associate at a sporting goods store. And he's still able to live in an apartment in downtown Tokyo. It boggles my mind.
The same job in the states is specifically designed for high school kids, and likely pays less than 9$ an hour.
