Initially, perhaps. I don't think most people care about such things as we may do, or people on 4chan. If you are branded as "one of the good ones", I sometimes feel that it insinuates that you are not really "black" - as most blacks that they have seen are either loud, abrasive, or criminals. Perhaps the label of subhuman is given to most ethnic groups, not just blacks - though blacks do seem to have the criminal stereotype attached to them more often than not.

I was sitting outside one day and a white man walked past me and said, he’s one of the good ones, I was in Ohio to work at first job, so this was mine and his first time ever laying eyes on each other. But him saying that meant , he seen my skin color first and made an opinion based on that. Which means he viewed me as a created character and not a human still.

As do most people - we as humans categorise people at first glance based on appearance. Cheap clothes = poor. Attractive = good person (positive halo). Black = dangerous, may be a criminal, might rob me. White (normally) = safer, known, upstanding member of society. Roll with the punches - do not let such comments get under your skin. Only care about the opinions of those close to you.
